Level 4, Intermediate, Post 6, 'Postgraduate Studies'

 Hi everyone

On this occasion, I will talk to you about postgraduate courses that I consider taking in the future, in relation to my career, from what I have seen in the university, the postgraduate programs that exist are, urban planning, geography, territory, space and society, residential habitat, heritage intervention architectural, among others. The ones that most attract my attention in current times are the last two, the residential habitat and intervention in assets, if you ask me for reasons, the truth is that I don't know much about each course, I only take them as an option for the interest of the name.

If one day I were to take these courses I think I would like it to go abroad I think there is a lot to learn from the outside, as I have mentioned in other blogs I would love to go to Europe, especially to study the heritage architecture there, I think it is one of the things that has interested me the most in the studies of theorists such as the culture of classical architecture or the foundations of architecture that, although they are a bit tedious for me, I have learned to take a liking to the content they have, I don't know I could tell you more about this topic, when I investigate and learn more about these courses, I may comment on it again.

Well this would be a short account of my tastes in architecture, thanks for reading it.

Kind Regards!

Level 4, Intermediate, Post 5, 'My future job'

 Hi everyone

This time I will tell you about my future work, to begin as I have said in my previous blogs, at present I am studying architecture in my second year. The work that I would like to have in the future is clearly linked to this, I think I would like to belong to an office of outstanding architects where I can have my own works, I imagine myself as an adult in an apartment that is close to work so as not to lose So much time on the trips, working in the office and making models and drawings, I would like to be able to travel a lot for work to see new places and see the architecture of other parts of the world. Regarding salary, it would be good to have a salary that allows me to give myself my luxuries and not lack anything, to be able to make trips not only for work but to enjoy and help my family if it is needed.

I imagine my work in a pleasant and beautiful environment, if they asked me now in which area I will specialize to work, I still don't think I have the answer, I still have 3 and a half years of career to experience the different areas and see which one I like best. , but thus responding as I am now, I could say that I would discard urbanism, with what little I have seen is the only thing I could say.

Well this would be a small opinion about my future work, I hope you have understood me, thanks for reading.

Kind Regards!

Level 4, Intermediate, Post 4, 'Theme Free Post 2'

 Hi everyone

On this occasion I will talk about the online university, I believe that in these times of pandemic this issue is very present, especially for students, I in particular studied architecture at the university of Chile, I think one of the most complex situations in the Online university is communication with teachers, there are times that one needs a more graphic explanation than written, I think this modality is a bit costly because each one lives different situations, I think it is exhausting to be alone in front of the computer for hours, I could say that most of the day I am sitting here.

In the second semester there was an overlap of the theoretical branches with the workshop, which is one of the heaviest branches in all the semesters. Waking up and the first thing you do is turn on the computer is depressing, I spend the whole morning in theoretical classes, I go out at 1:30 p.m., I cook (on certain days) I do things around the house so that at 3:00 p.m. to connect for workshop classes, they just finish at 6:00 p.m., I have to work in this field until night, I give myself a space to take eleven and I go back to work until 12 or 1 in the morning to get up again and repeat this , I think that putting together theorists and the workshop was a bad decision, the academic load that this entailed was exhausting, hopefully later problems like these are discussed so as not to have to be always busy with study topics, I think that an organization is necessary to be able to have a time for ourselves.

Well this would be a small opinion about the online university, thanks for reading.

Kind Regards!

Level 4, Intermediate, Post 3, 'Theme Free Post'

 Hi everyone

On this occasion I will talk about the last series I saw on Netflix, it is called Memories of the Alhambra, it is a korean series of the year 2018, it is about a director of a games company who, after the betrayal of a friend, travels to Spain for business and he meets a game programmer, the funny thing is that the game is one of the most advanced in virtual reality, during the series it could be said that it comes to life and begins to affect the daily life of the main character.

During the series many strange events happen that one is intrigued as to why they happen, and when the end is nearing these doubts are not yet clarified; one thinks, could it be that in the last chapter they explain everything? But when I finished watching it, I couldn't believe that they ended it like this, I thought there would be a second season but when I saw the year it was broadcast I realized that no, I began to look if some parts of the series were explained at some point, but When I saw the comments I realized that I was not the only one who was puzzled by the ending, I think the series had a good plot but they did not know how to make everything clear, it is one of the few series that I have seen that leaves almost everything open .

Well this would be a small opinion on this series, if you would like to know what I am talking about, watch it, thanks for reading it.

Kind Regards!

Level 4, Intermediate, Post 2, 'The Best Holidays/Concert Ever'

 Hi everyone

On this occasion I will talk about my favorite vacations, to begin I will put them in context; It was at the beginning of 2015, we were in the month of February and with my family we went to the south to vacation, specifically to Coñaripe which is near Villarrica, this was not the first time we went, the first was in 2013 and we stayed in a cabin and then we camped the last 2 days, in this case it was 2 weeks just camping, the campsite was called “las gaviotas”, it had games, a business that had everything one needed, we had direct access to the lake and a friend who was waiting for us from the first time we went. The days we were there were sunny and we were able to make the most of everything, we woke up early, had breakfast at the lake, we were all the minute by the water playing cards, reading among other things, then we went up to have lunch and returned to the lake to refresh ourselves, It was all very simple and quiet, one of the most beautiful things there are the nights where you could see thousands of stars and feel the tranquility of nature.

Well this would be a bit of my favorite vacation, thanks for reading.

Kind Regards!

Level 4, Intermediate, Post 1, 'A Country I would like to visit'

 Hi everybody

In this blog I will talk about some trips that I would like to do during my life, I could say that one of my dreams is to travel to Europe because it contains one of the oldest and most famous architecture in the world. Being an architecture student, I have had to study a lot about classical architecture found in Europe, so I would love to be able to see it in person and go through what I once saw in just photos. To be more specific I would love to go to Paris and Rome, to be able to see the great works like Notre Dame or the Roman Colosseum.

Notre Dame: demoró más de 180 años en construirse y menos de 24 horas en destruirse › Hoy en la Historia › Granma - Órgano oficial del PCC    Todo lo que debes saber antes de visitar el Coliseo romano

If ever I had the opportunity to study or work in a European city, I would love to be able to do it, I don't know if I would be able to live there for a long time because I am a person who shares a lot with the family, I don't know if I would like to spend so much time alone in a new country and city.
I would like to be able to visit for shorter times and maybe on several occasions to know and see everything that one day I had to study and appreciate from afar.

Thanks a lot for reading,
Kind Regards!

Social housing

I find that this interesting and relevant topic in the current pandemic situation that is experienced worldwide, now more than ever saw the inequality and needs in homes, starting with social housing.

The architect Ricardo Tapia, an academic at the University of Chile and a specialist in social housing, states that “People with fewer resources and more vulnerable sectors do not want to go to live in those sectors where people with the most resources live: what people want is that their neighborhoods and communes enjoy the same residential quality as upper neighborhoods, better transportation, more green areas, better complementary services ”; In Chile the inequality in the ways of living is shown, the pandemic crisis showed the reality in which people live daily, the inequality observed in the homes and sectors is unfair, as the architect Ricardo Tapia says well, there should be a balance between sectors, which find equality in opportunities regarding their environments, regardless of the category of the sector.

College life

At the end of school a new stage comes, the university, although it is not something so different it has its differences, now nothing is an obligation one sees what things do or not, what class you decide to attend or not, in the university what changes the most It is that everything depends on you, it is your responsibility, and parents do not get involved like in school, the requirement is another, the grades are not as easy to obtain as school.

It is a new and different stage, but good if you take advantage of it and enjoy it, you create new friends, you acquire new knowledge, if you study what you like you enjoy the classes, you are interested in the content you see. I am currently in my second year of university, my experience to date has been good, I managed to find good friends, I like the bouquets I have and the atmosphere that exists in the university, I have had days without sleep but nothing so terrible to talk about. about bad experiences.

Story behind a photo

Well, this photo was taken at the end of my first semester of architecture degree at the University of Chile in 2019, it was the first workshop delivery, which was working throughout the semester, it was a new experience and recently Starting university life, it was an extensive but entertaining job; at the end I was satisfied with all my work and I was able to understand the purpose of most of the activities. The night of this day was spent without sleeping and talking all the time with a friend while we worked to finish everything requested, the good thing is that we both managed to finish it and deliver it in time for the exhibition, at the end of the delivery we were able to breathe and go to lunch We bought sushi with other friends to celebrate our term of delivery and semester, it was a good experience despite all the bad times that one goes through due to pressure or stress. :)
